Glass Prisms Tiger 1 Dvr & R.OP Periscope Update Bump

Post by Mike Stannard (toyrific) »

Update 6/30/9

I now have requests for 38 units and will make a new batch of 50 so 12 units available for order. More can be made in this batch if there is enough interest. Please contact me by e-mail.

Original Post.
I have had a couple of requests for the glass prisms for the Tiger 1 Driver & Radio OP Periscopes, Unfortunatly I can only order these in a minimum batch of 50 units, each periscope requires two units, total of 4 per set, six per set if you want to include the loaders periscope. Based on this I need firm orders for 12 to 13 sets or more. If you missed out on the first two batches of a 100 units each let me know here or by e-mail. Each unit (glass) is $42.00 each. $168.00 set of four. Have to confirm there has not been a price increase.

If you are making these for the Cupolas then I will need them for my Tiger I Cupola (already on order).

If you are making these for external appearance only then I will order 7. But if you are making complete Periscopes (2 prisms each x 7 positions), then I will need your periscopes with 14 prisms.

That should help you get to 50 pretty quickly!

Hi Martin

These are the prisms for the periscopes in the driver and radio op hatches, not the cupolas, hopefully they will come later.

Hi Mike,

Can you cast the rubber protectors using Urethene Rubber? The ones I got is getting abit sticky due to the temperate environment over here.

Look forward to your reply.

David

It looks like your rubber protectors have suffered the same fate as a few antenna bases. I have tracked down the time period that these where made and it was a time when I had some part time help and they did make a few of the antenna bases and protectors for me. I now beleive these bad bases and protectors came from the same batches and the reason is the rubber was not mixed correctly. The bases and protectors are made with industrial grade Urethene Rubber. I will replace the bad ones when I send your current order.

If anyone else has problems with the rubber antenna bases and face protectors for the periscope, let me know and I will replace them.

Regards
Mike

Hi Roland

Until I get at least 12 orders for the glass prisms I cannot bill you for them. Do you wish to wait until I have a firm answer on making a new batch of prisms before ordering the periscope housings and face protectors. Or do you wish to order them anyway. It is possible I may not make the glass prisms.

Hi Mike ,

my order is firm for all parts in your first photo. If however you will not
get the minimum number for the glass, I still like to stay with all other parts
in my order. No hurry, I can wait until you have orders for your minimum batch.

Have a nice sunday, Roland.

I gotten a set of the periscopes and prisms from Mike, and I would like to put it on record that I am very satisfied with them. That's why I kept going back to Mike for my detail parts requirements over the years. Thanks Mike.

By the way, any plans for the innards for the early tiger copula?
Peace and take care
