Hi Guys, I'm on the last leg of this build and today I was about to take the tank out for one last test run but the turret rotation has stopped working. everything is plugged in and has been working with no issues in the past. Upon further inspection I see that the Viper, is getting power and is lighting up as it did before when idle, and when activated. The motor is also not burned and is clear of obstructions.
A similar event happened a few months ago with the same issue but after a day it went away... I figured it was a lack of battery power, but today the batteries are fully charged and the tank has full power
I'm at a loss of why this is happening, is there a circuit breaker on the new rotation speed controller, or is there a switch that I need to flip like on the elevation system that I had resolved a few months ago? any help would be helpful as this one makes no sense as I literally had the turret working previously

Re: Tiger 131 turret rotation issue
Have you been through the ESC set up procedure ?
Could it be the ESC settings have been changed/corrupted ?
Adrian.

Re: Tiger 131 turret rotation issue
Hello John, check the 'output' from your Viper. My original Viper in the Panther Kit when connected to the turret turn quite suddenly stopped working. It also would 'light up', I checked all that I could without success. I purchased a new Viper from Mtroniks and all is well. So, a faulty Viper is a possibility.. ....Mick

Re: Tiger 131 turret rotation issue
Thanks guys, Adrian I went through the setup when I was first calibrating everything (which was pretty straight forward and was up in seconds). I also went through the setup a second time after the issue re-emerged, with no results
Mike, your story sounds almost identical to mine and might be the issue... I'm not exactly happy as now I have to let the customer know and track down a new unit, remove / remount something that was working perfectly... but that's how the cookie crumbles... at least it's a simple swap out and I can still progress on the paintwork / completion work in the down time.
Has anyone else encountered this type of failure... or are Mike and I just the lucky ones who won the lottery in this case?

John
May be a loose connection on a wire somewhere, like a crimp terminal loose on a wire.

I also had exactly the same problem with viper. There was current going in as the two LED’s were lighting up, but there was no current going out to the motor. Kian is checking it for me.

Re: Tiger 131 turret rotation issue
Hello John hello Frazer, I also returned my Viper to Armortek, for testing, no output from the unit. The new Viper I purchased directly from Mtroniks is working well. I test the motion and sounds on my Panther every couple of days, I just like the sound of the Maybach start up, oh and I fire off a few rounds just because I can

Re: Tiger 131 turret rotation issue
Hello Mick
Could you please let me know the Mtroniks part number I need as there are so many speed controllers they produce. I would like to know in case I have a problem in the future. I have a Panzer111 by the way.
Regards Frazer

Re: Tiger 131 turret rotation issue
Hello Frazer, the unit is a Mtroniks Viper Loco 10 HV, £35.74 including delivery. I was impatient so went ahead and purchased a new speed control. These Viper units are well used by model train/boat enthusiasts. As a sealed unit, I have no idea why there appears to be a fault....Mick
