Re: Open Day 2017
Home after a diversion to walk up to the Monument on Farley Mount on the west side of Winchester. So time for a quick thank you to Kian and Monique and all those who helped to make today a great day out. Now for a cup of tea and then to unload the Van!
All the best Steve

Re: Open Day 2017
+1. An excellent day, chatting to lots of great people, eating good food, and playing with tanks on interesting obstacles. Even the sun shone on us - in October ! So massive thanks to Monique, Gill, Kian, Mark, Chris and anyone else who helped to set it all up.
And I was really pleased to win that Panther print !
Gratefully,
Chris

Re: Open Day 2017
Crikey Steve, that was a blast from the past. Ive not thought of Farley Mount in 20+ years.
Today was my first Open Day and I thoroughly enjoyed today even though I spent most of the day fixing my Panther.
A special big thanks to everyone who helped me out today.
Cheers
Tim

Re: Open Day 2017
Hi Everyone
Just want to thank all those responsible for putting on a great event today at the factory. A really enjoyable day - I spoke to so many helpful and interesting people, and generally had a lovely time.
Thanks everyone for all your hard work.
Mally.

Re: Open Day 2017
These events don't just happen, they involve a lot of hard work behind the scenes. So a heartfelt thanks to Monique, Kian, Gill, Mark, Chris and Marko and a welcome to Coco, who got to sniff the sandwiches at the end of the day. Lovely to catch up with old friends and to meet a host of new customers. I'll post photos tomorrow, after I've checked if the new Kompact Kit has had its security classification downgraded from Top Secret to Unclassified. There will also be a short video of it in action (or inaction, whichever is appropriate). Thanks for a fun day. Roll on the first event of 2018. Stephen

Re: Open Day 2017
I've just noticed that, in the list of thanks to the organisers, we haven't mentioned Monique's daughters ! After all, they did all the important jobs - booking us in, and unveiling the Bailey Bridge .... Thanks, Ladies, and hopefully it gave you something to talk about at school today.
Appreciatively,
Chris

Re: Open Day 2017
Yes I would like to second all the thanks in previous posts. I did get about 6 miles down the road on the way home and realized I had left my tank lifter behind so had to retrace steps to pick it up. I did take the Comet around the death defying area and over the railway sleeper a couple of times, the Christie suspension proving it's worth. Now to do some repairs on the Tiger drive system which gave trouble on Saturday at Tankmod. Once again thanks to Kian and Monique for a great day.
Dennis.

Re: Open Day 2017
Some Open Day photos:
"You don't scare me, Tiger"
Nice model....Single triple or single double or single single?
One for Chris Hall. Testing of the early Bailey, using a WW1 Mk V tank loaded with pig iron and what looks like an A9 Mk 1 Cruiser tank on top to achieve a weight of over 40 tons. The Bailey was originally designed in anticipation of the 39 ton Churchill Infantry Tank.
A great day out, thanks again to everyone who made it happen and here's hoping the Bailey Bridge is well received.

Re: Open Day 2017
Many thanks to all who attended (and those who helped organise) the Open Day 2017 and made it a great day. Monique and I both thoroughly enjoyed it.
We were too busy to take many pics, but hopefully others will upload theirs here as well.
There was a drone flying around and we should get footage of that later in the week.

Re: Open Day 2017
Photos look great Stephen, do you mind if I cross post them to OneSixth UK, there are a couple people over there who keep pestering me to sell them parts of my collection, I can now point them your way! I know a guy in Belgium, couple guys in Holland and about three people in Canada who would be interested in a 1/6th Scale Bailey bridge, and a few in the US too!
Incidentally. a lot of RE chaps always seem to want a 1/6th scale Bailey Panel that they can turn into some kind of present for a retiring Staff or Officer!

Re: Open Day 2017
Feel free Pete. I’ll shortly be linking to a YouTube video of the Bailey model. Great intelligence re interest in the new model. A Bailey panel as a leaving present is a novel idea - beats a T shirt. Stephen.

Re: Open Day 2017
Thanks for that Stephen, all posted over on OneSixth UK where I am certain it will generate some interest..., I shall alos link in another couple of 1/6th scale forums in the US and I'm sure our European members will spread the news to UK forums!
