Slow progress on the Panther, I have spent the last couple of weeks making tool racks. I thought it would be a fairly quick job but proved to be somewhat time consuming.

Nice work Steve, it's just amazing how long those jobs take to do but they make all the difference regards Phil.

A bit more progress. I have started the Zim application using waterproof tile adhesive mixed with brown Tamiya accrilic paint. The texture was applied using Mike Stannards Zim tools.

It's been a while since I last posted and progress has been steady. I seem to have been building in sub assemblies and so hopefully in the near future these will all come together and I will have a almost complete rolling chassis.
Anyway for now this is where I am up to.

- The basic lower hull up to the sponsons is now done and painted, of course it still needs weathering before I add the suspension and wheels.
- Wheels and fittings are now ready to be installed
- Bob Moreys very nice early idlers waiting for paint
- Finally, the drive sprockets in the process of painting

I second Phil's comment. Hull is looking really good. Are you saving the upper side zimmerit for later? Perhaps after the tools and bits are placed?
Nice work! I will have to experiment with the tile adhesive for zimmerit. I have some leftover as well!

Steve tell us more about the wp/grout, like the working time and how difficult is it to apply and shape, is it really sticky? I would like to use it on the Bergepanther, regards Phil.

I have to echo the other and say well done! You have nail the Demag zimmerit pattern spot on.
I envy you Ausf A owners as that is my favourite Ausf of the Panther but are stuck with my Ausf G "never ending build" as G:s was the only option when I got the Panther bug...
If I had an A my choize of Panther would have been Ernst Barkmanns "Black 424" from Normandy.
I have a pretty decent knowledge what that Panther looked like and it didn't have the kugelblende outfit.....
One minor comment on your hull.
The Demag zimmerit at the rear hull plate was also above the bins as seen on the photo below.
Also note the absent of Dunkelgelb under the bins, just red oxide.
The Demag Panther in the photo is actually the one now owned by Weathcroft and the template for the Armortek kit.
Keep up the good work, follow this with interest.

Kevin's Panther is the one I am going to base mine on, I had noticed the red oxide below the missing bin and at the moment I am not sure if I will model my Panther with the missing bin as seen in in the photo or with one fitted.
