Re: Armortek Event - TankFest - Almost SOLD OUT

Post by Armortek »

We're now on the limit for numbers for TankFest. If you would still like to go but haven't yet booked in, we can put you on the reserve list or there are a couple of places available for the Sunday only.

Denny - I will ask re arriving early Friday.

Regards

Stephen

Hi. Access on the Friday of TankFest will be from 1500 onwards. I've asked about early arrival but our site will be in use. I'll post further notes about the weekend as soon as I have the joining instructions. The list is now closed but I'm happy to hold a reserve list in case anyone drops out.

Regards.

Re: TankFest 2017 - Joining Instructions

Post by Armortek »

TankFest 2017 takes place between Fri 23rd and Sun 25th June at the Tank Museum Bovington. Welcome on behalf of Monique and Kian. We have 36 registered to attend, including Gill and Mark. The event is ticket only and is now sold out.

Passes

Your car pass and wristband will be available for collection on arrival at the Registration point below:

Timings

Please note the timings for arrival and departure. There will be no vehicle access to the site during public opening hours (0900-1800).

- Fri 23rd Registration opens 1500.

- Sat 24th Arrivals 0700-0800 only. Registration available. Departures: 1830 onwards, including vehicle access to site.

- Sun 25th Arrivals 0700-0800 only. Registration available. Departures: 1830 onwards.

Armortek Display Area

This is our usual pitch, beside the VIP tent and next to the tank park and display arena. Please note the route to the pitch from the Registration point. The Armortek team will set up from 1500 on Fri.

Arrival and Parking

After registration, please unload and park up the models. We may decide to arrange the models in groups, eg WW1, German WW2, Allied WW2, Modern, so please be prepared for a bit of "organisation". We'll have the Armortek emporium and Independent Armour's blow-up palace. Once unloaded, please take your vehicle to the offsite parking for Exhibitors (aka the wonderfully names "Event Support Parking and Camping Field"):

Please note the one way system and take care crossing road on foot.

Security There will be 24 hour security on site throughout the event. Please be vigilant and report anything suspicious to Museum Staff. We have permission for a limited presence onsite overnight to provide security, for which we have at least one volunteer. No tented camping will be allowed onsite.

Model Matters

There is no onsite power, so limited charging. If you're staying for both days, please consider battery usage. We may have at least one generator for emergency top-up. This being the English summer, please consider some protection for your model in case of rain. We can't guarantee to get models under cover during the day. Over the Saturday night, we'll arrange for as many as possible to be parked in the tentage. Smokers can be used.

Operating Models in Public

Before setting out, would you please take a moment to read the Knowledge Base topic on Operating Models in Public. It covers some useful guidelines to make sure we have a safe and enjoyable event.

Events and Publicity

Kian and Monique intend to launch the new model at TankFeset. Details to follow. We will also arrange the usual group photo on each day. I've set up a YouTube Channel for video of Armortek models, link below and would be happy to put up any videos or stills you take.

Finally, if someone could guarantee the weather, all will be well. Look forward to seeing everyone on the day. Anyone need a TankVest?

Stephen -

Thanks for that - settles my timetable nicely. I'll be there at 1500 Friday to help set up, meet Kian and Monique :D , unload my toys, and hopefully get a sneak preview of the new model. Then I don't have to get up at stupid o'clock on Saturday - I can just park in the 'Event Support Parking etc.' and even sneak in with the Great Unwashed.

Looking forward to catching up with everyone !

Hi Stephen
As the passes are not being posted out would it be possible to have some sort of confirmation for those who are attending,
Would hate to turn up and find there was no pass.
Regards
Steve

Steve, you've got a Sat pass as requested. Some folk don't like their attendance at events publicised for obvious security reasons. I've got passes for all who asked for them and there is a cunning plan to make sure we've a spare. If anyone would like confirmation, please PM me and I'll confirm. All the best and see you at Bovvy.
