Centurion smoke grenade tude

Post by David Skeldon »

Hi,
Does any one know the diameter and length of a smoke launcher tube on a Centurion?

Presuming they had not changed them between Centurion, Chieftain & Challenger, internal diameter was slightly larger than that of a regular beer can and internal length was also slightly longer than a beer can. :D
The issued tester was fiddly to use so I always made my own. Sand the paint off the external surface of the can to get a good earth contact, hole cut in the bottom for a 5W side-light bulb, hole cut in the side to get the bulb in there. Ring-pull used to pull it easily out of the tube so best to use a sort where the ring-pull stays attached to the can. If ring-pull breaks off then no problem, drink beer and make new tester :D
