What colour the fire extinguisher?

Hi Guys
Does anyone what colour the tetra fire extinguisher should be painted?
This is for my Panther I have seen many colours used on people's models.
I have painted it with the dunkgleb base colour at the moment but I am sure I have seen them in yellow, red and german gray...
What is correct?

Hi Derek,

On your Panther - Dunkelgelbe!
The grey was from the "grey-era" before summer 1943 and the red one is for interior use.

Please note the difference in labels and this is VERY interesting!
After study lots of ww2 photos I am now certain that extinguisher fasten on the Panther outside had the painted text not the paper label.
And according to the top photo so did also other Panzers - can some vendor make them please? :oops:
I can take good reference photos from my own one.

Thanks as always for the quick reply.
I have put the transfer of the paper label on mine so that will have to do for me. Anyhow I am sure that by 1944-45 they would have used anything
they could get there hands on even second hand recycled ones.
I must admit I have never seen one with those markings before.

Hi Guys,

I have recently been helping a friend restore a WWII 650 Zundapp combination, he has tried numerous colours, even Dunkelgelb RAL 7028, the only trouble was, it didn’t match the original colour he had. We concluded that because the original powder paint may have been diluted with Petrol/Benzene, this was common practise in the field, and for this reason we may never get the correct colour! Then when Bill went on his holiday, and visited the museum in Koblenz, he had the chance to talk to a restorer in the museum, he told him to try Ford Nevada Beige in satin, he advised that cellulose would be best, as it looks flatter. He has had a litre mixed and has tested it against some parts I have, and it also matched the colour on one of the jerry cans. Just thought I would share this in case anyone is looking for that colour, and you can always try a colour chart in the shop!!!
