Tank simulator released soon.

Post by Lionel Champ »

I know that this is not related to Rc models, but Tiger enthusiasts may be interested in knowing that a Tiger simulator (game) is being released around July. It is called "T-34 vs Tiger" and you can see a demo of it on You Tube (put T-34 vs Tiger in the search box). It looks very interesting and will give you a chance to drive a Tiger from the inside.

Hi Lee,
Call of Duty 4 is a fantastic game. I love every second of it. Shame that there were no vehicles to drive in it though.I did look at Red orchestra when it came out ,but never got to play it. Is it still popular? I was (and still am) into Battlefield 2 .The graphics are dated compared to Cod 4 but you can't beat the game play. I could do with a faster PC, but all my pocket money is going on my Tiger.

Hi guys

Sorry if I'm butting in to your conversation but I wanted to ask. Have any of you tried WWII online? It's come a long ways since it was first introduced and the Tiger Is are great. You can operate all kinds of British, American, French and German machines. You can move to any position in the tanks(which sometimes you have to due to sticking your commander out at the wrong time or for too long)

a good trailer

Sounds are great and best of all..you are fighting with 100s of actual people.

Lionel,
Spec as listed, looks like to play it on the high setting you need an av graphics card.

Windows XP / Vista with DirectX 9.0c

3GHz Processor

2GB HDD Space

1GB RAM (2GB for Vista)

128MB nVidea GeForce 6600, ATI Radeon 9600 or equivalent

DVD-ROM Drive

Sound Card (DirectX 9.0 compatible)

Hi Nigel and Tim,
My pc has a FX55 Athlon 2.61 Ghz with Sli graphic cards (7800GT) so I will have to turn the settings down. As for the WWII online, it looks fantastic. Unfortunatly ,it also looks expensive to subscribe and would take away valuable funds away from my Tiger (which is still in the build stage).
Thank you both for the response and if you buy T-34 vs Tiger, let me know how you get on with it.

Hello Chaps

The T34 vs Tiger is from Red Orchestra. The down side to no cover is it takes ages to reload  .And if you get a defefction he lands one on you its time to jump ship and look for another one.

Well I had a go on one of Lionel's computer games the other night. I must admit that the graphics were very good but I just can't get my head around all the buttons and the speed with whitch you have to move. I was lasting about a microsecond before being killed!! I'd never make a modern jet jockey.

Sorry to hear that Glen. I have been running it on XP and have had very little trouble so far.The graphics run a bit jerky, but I guess that is down to my processor being minimum recomended speck. The game play is good enough to stick with it when you get your updates. I like the way my T34 keeps stalling when I get the revs wrong. It is definitely a thinking mans game. It keeps you on your toes.
Better luck in the future,
Lionel

Ps. Allan, next time you come around, I'll let you try it out. It runs at a slower pace than the game you tried here last time.
