After-market detail parts - Are there any offering?

Post by David Lee »

Hi,

I have an 88 and half track still unopening but plan on the build later this year or early next. Just wondering if there are any detail parts on offer by other talented builders, so that I can start collecting them before the build.

Thanks
Peace and take care

Hello David . What else do you have under the bed . It sound like you have a good collection of Armortek kits. Well done !! ... I felt guilty having two ... Dale.

Hi Dale,

I have been following your build thread and pictures over the past year and am very impressed with your tank from Land DownUnder.

Quality counts and the lastest pics of your early tiger in dark yellow is breathtaking. I have a couple of stuff under my bed literally  but not armortek stuff.

Well, I had to have the 88mm, halftrack, early tiger I and Panzer IV (but currently only Panzer III is in the armortek offering) influenced from the early Tamiya days.

I am a perfectionist  or so I wish to be, therefore I was very slow in building my tiger. Changed three steel floor boards because I was not satisfied with the countersunk angles  And I changed all aluminim to all brass suspension blocks. Coupled with certain limitations of skills, and availabiltiy of good machinist in China where I worked.

I am still trying to find a twenty over years old picture of a diorama depicting a German retreat in a Tamiya center foldover. It features a panzer IV, horse drawn field hospital, a krupp truck, BMW motorcycle crossing a long wooden bridge. And German pioneers were seen laying dinamite along the pillars of the bridge.
Peace and take care

Hi David,

You could try Tim Catton, he has made some one off parts for my halftrack.

Here you go, I haven't contacted for quite some time since I bought some tools and fire extinguisher from him. Great work he does.

Hi David,

You are better off asking Tim for what you want, rather than if he is doing them. I asked if he could do the Krauss Maffei badge for the front of mine and he did, but it wasn't on his list! He is doing some other parts for my halftrack at the moment, I won't say what they are in case he doesn’t want to do any more. you could also put a wants list on the craftsman’s market, that way you might get them cheaper if their are a few of you wanting the same thing.
