Hello
The deflector shield is now ready.

I like to build the motor compartment wiht the engine. From the engine I have a 1:25 model and many pictures but nothing from the blank compartment (I hope I use the right words). Does anybody can help me with some pictures from the compartment without the engine? This would be very helpfull.
Stephen many thanks for your offer (I write you a PM)
Kind regards
Frank

Hi Frank,

Just spent a few minutes catching up with your thread. Fantastic work!
Apologies for not being more supportive, but I have been unwell so have not been able to do much modelling since Easter.

There is a fairly new product which may save you time cleaning up your 3D prints.
https://www.smooth-on.com/product-line/xtc-3d/
I have seen prints coated with this resin and it does work. You can easily add a more realistic cast texture with a light over spray of Rust-Oleum Cast Iron texture paint.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Rust-Oleum-Nat ... B00JQ2OQ2G
This available at most large DIY stores in the UK.

Once cured the XTC-3D could also be lightly worked with a Dremel for a rougher effect.
The resin will slightly alter the dimensions of the parts but more evenly than say an automotive spray filler.

Hope this helps, and keep up the good work!

cheers, Fabrice

Frank, I haven't any photos of the engine and transmission compartments empty but this link below takes you to a .pdf file of the restoration of Australian Cent ARN 169065 with some low res pictures which might help:

Hello
Fabrice: A very interesting spray. The layer thickness that I use is 0.09mm. So mostly it is o.k. for the rest I use sandpaper.
Stephen: Yesterday I study your photos. I think now I have an idea what I have to do. May thanks for your information and in advance for your PM.
Kind regards
Frank

Frank, these are the set of louvres/cooling baffles under the rearmost part of the hull. Note the differences:

These are the baffles under the gearbox covers ie those which sit on top of the radiators:

Inside the hull rear:

Hope that helps. I like the printed parts, so much easier than making them by hand. It took me far too long.

Stephen

Hello
Three louvres are mounted provisional. The fourth must wait until I know how I can lay the wires.
