As we speak, 100 years ago this very morning, tanks rolled into action for the first time in history.
I can't make it to Flers, Bovington or London (massively envious of those who can !), but I'll be taking 'Liesel' around the garden later for a commemorative run.
And, for those of us in the UK, there's a programme on BBC4 at 8pm about the original Tank Men.
We, of all people, should mark this event .....
All the best,
Chris
2025 ARMORTEK KIT SURVEY
Over the last few years we have brought out a whole series of kits as a direct result of your feedback - kits like the Pershing, JagdPanther, Hetzer, Leopard 2A4, and more recently the Sd Kfz 7, 88mm Flak 36 and the upcoming Challenger 2.
So, in keeping with what has become and annual tradition, here is your opportunity to once again influence our future production plans.
We have added in some "guide pricing" next to the names of the models. This is a rough estimate of the price at the current rates.
Thanks in advance for your input and we look forward to the results.
So what are YOU doing for the Centenary ?

Greetings from France. We've had ceremonies so far at Poziers, Heilly (graves related to the casualty clearing station), Courcelette, High Wood, accompanied by relatives of C and D Company crewmen. They are being remembered. Stephen

Shift work has me on nights this week so no trip to London as originally planned. I did however run out Lightning III for it's first run with everything on since I rebuilt the right hand side.

I look forward to hearing all about it at TankMod ! Doubtless an experience to be treasured.
Anyone else ? What about our friends outside the UK ? After all, we've all benefitted (or suffered
) from this milestone in the history of warfare .....
All the best,
Chris

I am reflecting on the occasion, today.
On a brighter note I shall be going to Bovington on Saturday for Tank 100.
See you there?

Re: So what are YOU doing for the Centenary ?
Greetings from Texas! I ran one of my 1/6 tanks about today. Alas, I have not found any other RC tankers in the area. But I will be hosting a game at the local convention here in November in honor of the Battle of the Somme , Sept 15, 2016. Specifically the action around Flers-Coucelette in which a number of Mark I tanks under General Haig made an attack. It will be staged in 15mm on a 4X8 foot board replete with trenches an barbed wire....
Cheers to all on the forum
