TankFest 2016

Post by Stephen White »

Gill and Mark, as ever, thanks for two very enjoyable days at TankFest 2016. The Armortek Community was in fine form, despite the biblical deluges. Lots of fine models to admire. My apologies if I haven't covered all the models below. I've sent Gill the group photo.

Another great Tankfest and in fact we concluded it was our 10th! year not 9th as previously thought.

Probably a little more rain! than in the previous 9 years however that certainly did not dampen the spirits and indeed it was a very enjoyable weekend thanks to the great group of customers that came along to support us.

We can never thank you enough for your support and as can be seen in the above photo a fantastic display of models was on show. On the Sunday (and we had lost 3 or 4 from Saturday) I counted a total of 40 models on the pitch.

Finally a particular thank you to those who were there on Friday who helped us set up and to those who braved the weather to help take everything down on Sunday. I think the tents came down in record time this year!!

One final note, Dave Nadin who was one of the last on site picked up a pair of camping stools, which had been left behind on the pitch, they are Black metal frames with a red canvas seat. If they are yours get in touch.

If anyone else has photos please add to this post, the more the merrier.

Thank you again
Gill and Mark

It was indeed a most enjoyable event, even though I seem to have arrived home with less money than I went out with!! Thanks to you both for making it happen, and the assembled throng for a jolly good time.

Looked a great weekend, thanks for the photos for those of us that couldn't make it. Good lad Denny, that's why you were a gunner and not a driver

Dave, superb pics, thanks for posting. Laurent, you asked for more of Chris Fry's outstanding Jagdsturmtiger (or is it a Tigersturmjagd or a Jagdtigersturm?):
