:wink: yes, i know, there are two!! Work is in progress... I wish there's only one, one full afternoon for the first one... Or maybe i'm too slow!!
Have a look at that strange hybride panther G, it has early parts like round mantlet and late parts like idlers, and fan shroud...

Zimmerit is also a early G feature, I think this is the Panther in Munster and the mix of early and late features could be a result of using what parts were available during its restoration. Just a guess but if anyone can confirm this or knows the real reason for the mix of features it would be good to know.

Hi all,

That #801 in Munster is one of the under REME supervision post war manufactured (completed) Panthers, made from factory "left over" parts for evaluation purpose.
That’s why one has to take those REME Panthers with caution while using them as templates at modelling.
The Panther in Bovington and the in Germany private owned by Mr Flick Panther is also from that batch.

Panthers with a mix of Ausf D,A,G parts was however quite common late in war as everything was done just to keep their numbers at the front.
Recovered wrecks was stripped and put together with parts from several tanks to create a runner.
