detailing stowage bin

Hi Derek and Graham,
I have looked at the EKP catalogue and would like to know what size rivets you used around the top edge of the bins? Also ,do you need any special tools to fix them?
I use EKP for nuts and screws for my wheels and was very impressed with their quick responce. It took less than 48 hours from posting a cheque to receiving the goods. I hope Richie finds them as helpfull.

yes ekp are very good for all that small stuff we need with a fast turn around

i used copper 1/16 x 1/4 rivets i think this is the size we all used looks about right no special tool needed but it is best to have a lot of small drill bits as they can get stuck in the aluminium and snap

Hi all
I used the same, 1/4 long x 1/16dia. dome head, either brass copper or steel. You will need a 1/16 rivet snap for the dome head.
Seen as they are only decorative on my turret bin and not load bearing you can loctite them in instead.
As regards drilling and assuming you are using a small pedastal bench drill try using liquid Rocol, just a smear off a small brush.

One will last a long time for drilling/tapping.

Hi Lionel
Just a suggestion,I used the heads of dress maker pins to revamp the Armortek turret stowage bin.The ones I used the heads were just under 1/16 and the shanks 1/32.I marked out there position and drilled the holes 1/4 deep,cut the pin the required lenght,just add a touch of super glue to hold them in place.On page 6 of the gallery there photos of my Tiger showing the revamped turret bin.
