Magnifying glasses or lamp?

Post by Sam Hough »

Hello,

Could anyone recommend magnifying lamp or glasses? I'm short sighted so can swap them for straight magnifying glasses.

I'm struggling with detailed work.

Thanks

Sam

Sam, I too am short sighted for detail work I either use a magnifying glass the you can fit like a cap or simply remove my contact lenses and can see perfectly close up my problem is distance is you are the other way then you can still use the same magnifying glass.

It took me two years to work out why I was no longer able to deal with small detail work. Glasses made all the difference. Modelling is the only thing I use them for. They can be good as a safety item while working on metal models. I got a steel splinter in my eye last year. Not very pleasant. I have one of those lamps with magnifying glass but find it no help.

Thanks all,

I've just ordered some magnifying safety glasses:

I'm not that keen on getting aluminium dust in my eyes so these might help.

Cheers

Sam
