Hi Gill and Mark, what an inspired choice. The 17 pdr was every bit as successful as the German 88 in the anti-tank role but has enjoyed far less publicity. There is a moving sequence of 17 pdrs in action at Arnhem in the film "Theirs is the Glory" which was filmed after the war with a cast largely made up by participants in the battle. Does this mean you'll shortly be branching out into the aviation business with a one sixth scale Hamilcar glider? Hope it's a great success.

The other good thing is that there is now something to tow behind the M3 halftrack if any of those have been built as a British version.

Did not see that coming!
A brave and original choice, plus was also seen towed by the forthcoming Quad.

Other build options:
Achilles SPG: conversion on Sherman running gear.
Archer SPG: needs a scratchbuilt Valentine chassis to mount it on.

Will definately keep Mr Dibb busy making extras for months!

A 40mm Bofors, or 3.7cm Flak 36/37/43(as used on SdKfz 7/2, Pz IV Mobelwagen and Ostwind AA tanks and several ad hoc converted chassis) would be a nice addition to hope for one day. Bit fiddly with the SD.Ah 58 trailer, I suppose.

Look forward to following the builds of this unique subject. Finally something to shoot Tigers with!

regards
Fabrice

Excellent work Mark!! But released to early: I have not finished my Pheasant yet......
I see it as an incentive to speed up my work, it cannot be that the 17pdr's predecessor is finished later than its replacement!!

That would be a very large & heavy model. But will be my choice! :D
