Arromanches-les-Bains Pictures

Post by Adrian Harris »

I have been going through my photograph archives over the holidays and have created a couple of albums on Photobucket for the pictures I took in Normandy of the two 25 pounders which sit outside the Musée du Débarquement at Arromanches-les-Bains.

I'd be grateful to know if anyone can identify the model types from these pictures.

I can make the original pictures available via Dropbox but the archives are 550Mb and 300Mb respectively.

These are exactly as I took them, so there are some duplicates and similar angle photos, but hopefully they will be of interest.

Hi Adrian,

Great collection of albums on your Photobucket. Especially on the 25 PDR at Arromanches-les-Bains.
I have seen this one before when I was visiting the D-Day museums years ago. But I was not into 25 PDRs then!

Anyway always good interesting references on making detailed parts for adding any new upgrades to the 25 pdr.

Not sure which Mark this one is!….. I believe there might be three Mark 1, Mark 2, and Mark 3, versions.
Must try and take a closer look at these, to see which is which!!!

How easy is it to download these images from Photobucket as I don't use it!

Thanks anyway for putting these on the forum.

Cheers Ian

Thought you might like them :D

When you go into each gallery, at the bottom on the right hand side is a link to "Download album".

If you click on this link, and make it past their humanity test, you'll get a link to download all the pictures in a Zip file.

I have problems with the humanity test with Firefox, probably because of the privacy plug-ins I use, so I have to use Internet Explorer to download albums.

Hi Adrian,

Followed your instructions on downloading your 2 Albums on the 25 pdr at A-L-B.

At first Photobucket Facebook were trying to turn me into a Robot (I'm not a robot)!!!!!!…..
and passed their humanity test with flying colours…..?

I liked your coverage of the 25 PDRs. Nice to see there are still a few 25 PDR around to photograph etc.
So lot's more pics to study and see if I can add yet even more upgraded detailed parts to my 25 PDR gun.

Much appreciated in sharing these images on the forum.

Cheers
Ian

Hi Adrian,

Just found these pics I had taken back in December 2010 of the same 25 pdr guns sitting outside the Musee du Debarquement at Arromanches. That you had photographed too, although I did not take to many close up pics of them. They must be the most photographed 25 pdr guns on the French coast?

Thanks once again for your fine collection albums on the 25 PDRs…...

Cheers
Ian
