THANK YOU!

Post by Armortek »

There is so much to say, and so many to thank, for this weekend, that Mark and I do not know where to start. For tonight, we just wish to say a huge thank you to everyone has who joined us this weekend and contributed to making it such a success. After refreshing rather exhausted batteries we will post again tomorrow, hopefully with photos, until then just to say we are exceedingly grateful to everyone. Thank you.

Also thanks to Chris and Stephen for the tank (and owner  ) herding duties on Saturday and to Allie and James for their assistance in minding the various stalls over the weekend so Gill and Mark were able to mingle with the owners and public.

Well, it's been just over 24 hours since it finished, and I feel that I'm just coming down from the high ....... :D

That was the most fantastic weekend ! When I first became an Armortek customer in January I had lots of 'welcome' messages, and I thought "what a nice bunch". And now I've met some (regrettably not all) of you in person, and you're STILL nice !* (even Denny ) But I've particularly got to thank the triumvirate of Gill, Mark and Stephen for organising a wonderful event, and for making a newbie feel most welcome.

And the models on display were simply incredible ! I was humbled when I first rolled in on Friday afternoon (just driving my Liesel around the Tank Hall was awesome enough), so I was grateful for all the appreciative comments about my build. While I greatly admired all the models there (it seems invidious to choose, but those BARV's were brilliant, as was John Davie's T34), I was personally delighted with the turnout of the Mark IV's. So thanks to Steve, John and Daniel for sharing my enthusiasm, and welcome to Dave (all the way from Oz !), Phil and Francis, who are just about to start their builds. Good luck !

And, as for the 'group photo' at the end ..... well, the only analogy I could think of was the Falaise Gap in 1944, which must have looked like a similar logjam (especially with all those Tigers !).

I better stop now, as I'm running out of superlatives and hogging all the bandwidth . Thanks for the ride, and I'll see you all next time.

All the best,

Chris

* I've even forgiven Chris Fry for making me endlessly move my tank "just another couple of inches to the left", even though he knew I was a rubbish novice driver :P
