Late model wheel wobble

Post by Tim McCarthy »

G'day Fellows
I have put on 3 of my wheel assembly Type Y and after spinning them 1 spins true the other 2 wobble whilst spinning. This view is with the hull upside down and looking from above. I put a forth one on and it too has a wobble :?

I think this means my bearings are not centered so I have taken one of the hubs off and knocked out the bearing. Before I put in new bearings and locktite what tips / tricks are there to ensure the bearings are centered true?

I may be on the wrong path if so any advice to get them spinning true would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Tim

Hello Tim

Make sure that the wheels are on the hubs and tightened up correctly. Also there will be a slight wobble due to the bearings not being a tight fitt in the hub.It will sort it self out when it is on its wheels and at full wieght.

G'day Lee
Thanks for the advice mate this will save me some time. Re hubs and tightened up correctly what is the best method, I am tightening up on the diagonals?
Sorry it has taken so long to reply as I was on Holidays. My wife and I went up to Kakadu have a look what was on the bank as the boat went by!
