Bryans PaK 43 with a pinch of Armorpax added
Hi All,
I have started on the PaK 43 kindly supplied by Bryan. Initially I am going to focus on improving the Breech and recoil slide detail and the first part of the update kit will be a set of Square Headed bolts. These replace the kit supplied Hex heads on the Breech collar.
Best regards
Dave

Dave, nice touch with the square head bolts. Are these the same as the ones you make for the Tiger 1 rear deck?

Hi Eric,
Yes but I had to drill out the holes, I will be adding them to the update set but with a smaller pin dia so they drop straight in.
Best regards
Dave

Hi Dave, are you planning to add the Hub Towing Eyes. I still cant decide whether to try and scratch build them or wait and see if they come as detailing extra.

Re: Bryans PaK 43 with a pinch of Armorpax added
Hi All,
From time to time I get modelmakers block, I suppose when you build quite intensively year on year its inevitable you will get fed up with it now and then. I am trying to kick start myself after a particularly unproductive few months.
I put together a fair chunk of the Deagostini Millenium Falcon last week to raise my interest levels and managed a whole day today back on the PAK 43.The breach operation is a problem as the handle winds counterclockwise to open it meaning it will foul on all the new detail. Without this the breech is a very uninteresting block so I am going to have to find a way around this. I think I will go for a fully detailed but fixed handle with maybe a small thumb wheel on top of the assembly to open the breech. I think this way I can have the breech still open and close but keep the detail correct. More to follow.............
Best regards
Dave

***Brief thread hijack***
Simon, if you are at all interested in the DeAg Falcon, take out a sub now. (for an English language book) It is coming out in Germany, so if you have any German mates, get them to hook you up. I'd fully expect it to go for truly obscene amounts of money, once the run is complete. They will not be re-releasing it...
