Not only is this tank a superb quality build, with lots of aftermarket parts supplied by the likes of Steve Winston and the late Mike Stannard, it must have one of the best ever painted and weathering jobs applied to it by the Australian Noel who is one of the worlds great model master painters. Just take a look at the details applied during the painting techniques.
A detailed build thread has been posted on this forum in the past by Dale Jordan which details the building of this KT and the modifications that he has incorporated into the tank along with the painting and weathering carried out by Noel. Several other references about the tank can also be found on the the internet.
If the KT is a work of art then so are Olaf Piekenbrink's exact scale late war tracks that I am also selling with the tank. Olaf only ever made ten sets of these tracks, I believe, so are a collectors item in themselves and a rare set of tracks indeed these days. At the moment these tracks are fitted to the tank, as can be seen in the pictures taken of it in my workshop. (The pictures of the tank outside are with the standard Armortek KT tracks fitted to it).
Olaf supplied the sprocket rings with the tracks and these work fine but were not true scale so Mark at Armortek is in the process of making a set of scale sprocket rings for me that will work with Olaf's tracks and also look true scale as well. Gill has told me that these sprocket rings should be ready in the next couple of weeks and if the tank is sold before this time I will of course give these to the new owner.
As you can see by all of the above this Armortek King Tiger is a museum quality tank and I feel sure will appeal to a collector of heavy armour or a keen model tank enthusiast as well.
I paid a lot of money for this particular tank and then there was the price of Olaf's tracks on top of that. I am only selling it due to another project of mine needing a serious cash injection. When you think that these Armortek King Tigers very rarely come up for sale at all and when they do even a modestly built tank, with no aftermarket extras, will sell for well over £5700 plus.
I am asking £6750 for the tank including the tracks along with all of the radio control gear and KT build manual as well. I paid a lot more than this just for the KT alone so someone on here is going to get an absolute bargain with this tank.
Any questions then feel free to send me a PM on here,
or you can contact me on 07525465000.
Thanks
Steve
