Has anyone tried the following picture method of making track pins by rivetting over the inner end?

How is the work going on track pins?
Is the work showed in the picture feasible?

Hi Pierluigi
I have turned the pins with a 2.3mm dia x 1.75long spigot, made the collars 5 mm dia x 2.3mm bore by 1mm thick and swaged them on which prooved to be quite easy using a fixed steady roller held at a slight angle and just pressing it on the end of the spigot of the pin with the chuck doing about 400rpm. Unfortunately I cannot get a good picture of the swaged end as my camera is not good at close ups but the method produces a good finish and secure collar @ about 30seconds each pin. I have to drill the split pin holes yet.
