G'day Guys,
Big call for help. I cannot for the life of me connect the track. I've followed instructions but to no avail. How did others do it? Pics attached.

Re: Connecting the track
I have just run into exactly the same issue, no clue how you join the two parts together as there is no room to fit the joining link...

Re: Connecting the track
Hi Guys
Each track has two lengths of conveyor chain. Do one chain at a time. Fit the track joining tool provided, but do not tighten. Pull the track away from the tank and slide a couple of pencils underneath to hold it away from the body. Tighten up the tool and fit the link. Remove the tool from the first chain and do the second one. Remove the tool and the pencils and repeat for the second track.

Hi fellas.
Pretty sure I substituted the pencils with a couple of screwdrivers the only other thing I had to help me was a full range of colourful language .... did sod all to help but made me feel better at the time lol.
Great model it will all be worth it in the end
Cheers Paul.

Re: Connecting the track
Ok, the screwdrivers work but it has highlighted a new problem - track tension, way too much of it...
This is as close as I can get(link placed for illustration):-

The tensioners are backed off as far as I can:-

I am at a loss, the instructions give the impression there should be plenty of slack but I have none at all...

Re: Connecting the track
Hi guys
I have answered Daniel directly by e-mail on this. I dont think the manual does say there will be slack. All those that have been built are very tight initially, but they all go together, run and soon ease off.
Just looking at the photos, a little attention with a file should allow those track tensioner blocks to slide back a little further.

Re: Connecting the track
Hi Daniel
I do understand the frustration when things wont go together. I'm the first to complain when trying build something. (Even if it was me that designed it!). Being a small company instructions are not easy to do, because there is only me to do them and I am much to close to the design. I hope that the newer graphical instructions have improved things.

Re: Connecting the track
Both tracks on and running. Took some filing but once done slotted in with a little persuading. Gotta love working with metal. Given what goes into design, fitting, production and distribution of this large scale a big thanks Mark and Gill. Nice work and especially good after sale service I believe.
And as a side note, I'm a quadriplegic who instructs female carer's with my builds.
Cheers
Ray

Mark,
Why not make some 'How to build it' movies About specific, frequently asked / complex subjects?
