Benedini Type TBS5 sound module
Guys,
Has anyone fitted the 12 position rotary switch encoder to a Sanwa VG600 transmitter to access the extra sounds. If they have and it works ok are the encoders available in this country?
Regards Jeff Hyder

Many thanks for your help to answering my question. If you are going to the Armortek open day as I hope too, maybe you can help me decide if a decoder will resolve my problems and if possible obtain an encoder on my behalf if you think that is what is required to access the extra sounds.
Thanks again Jeff Hyder

Hi Ad and Lee
The basic problem I am having is that I am using a toggle switch (3 way flap control on my transmitter) which is ok for engine start up and shut down. However when I try to toggle the extra sounds they appear at random and nearly always shut the engine down.I thought this was a haphazard approach and fitting encoder would sort the problem out.
Lee,I hope to bring my Tiger (it's on the Gallery page 6) to the open day and look forward to see your Panther and listen to any advice you can offer.
Thanks to you both for answering my questions.
Regards Jeff Hyder.

Hi Jeff,
You may need to fully activate the toggle switch through the programming button that you will find on the sound module PCB.
You have to open the metal box containing the module and the amplifier. Switch on your transmitter and the electronics in your Tiger. Push the programming button once. All sounds will be played in sequence. Switch of the electronics in your tank (keep your TX on), then switch them on again. The toggle switch should be fully operational now.
You may have to find out whether you have to "count/select" the special sounds by pushing the switch upwards or downwards. This depends on how the wires have been connected to the switch.
Good luck !

Benedini sound module
Hi Ad
Thanks for the advice,I have however already programmed the module for toggle switch operation as per page 4 of the instructions and the unit went through the correct sequence of LED flash and available sounds.I have decided not to keep messing about with the unit and wait until the open day and speak to Mark and Lee to see if it is my fault in the way I am using the transmitter or fault with the unit.
There are 3 wires going to the toggle switch in the trasnsmitter.
Regards Jeff

Hi Jeff,
It seems that you have tackled most "items" with the sound unit.
I remember that my buddy Marcel Groene had similar problems with his Sanwa radio. The available switches just didn't do the job. It was not until he selected one of the joystick channels as a toggle switch that everything started working as it is supposed to work.
Just my last two cents
