25 pdr gun sight scope

Post by John M. Lyle »

I have noticed that only one end of the scope has a hole in it. Would it be accurate if I was to drill a hole in the other end? I do have a Unimat 3 lathe so it would not be a problem.

Hi John,
My scope had been drilled through so holes on both sides. On the actual scope on the gunners side there will be a bellows fitted to protect the gunners eye, the other side will be the exposed lens of the scope (unfortunately not photographed.....). Gunshield side (open lens):

Gunners side (with bellows):

Otherwise check the walk-arounds in the Kompact Kit section!

Anyway: drill away!

Regards,

Marcus

I cannot remember who, but I supplied the 'bellows' from a Bicycle V Brake which was then to be used to create the bellows in the photo. So check out your local bike shop, they should be able to sort you out with the part!

Hi Guys
The bellows from a model boat where a control linkage goes through the hull
would also work.
