I have finished the base, and have gone back to the gun cradle, I made the double socket boxes that bolt to the elevation gear box, these proved to be a bit of a challenge, as the boxes have bolt on front covers, and the sockets have removable caps

Many thanks Tim, I am just making the bakelite inserts for the sockets, I am not sure if we should be locked away in a padded room, but making these models is compulsive and satisfying

The model looks amazing with all that detail, keep the photo's coming.
I don't know about padded cells but my wife says I need to get a life when she sees me pooring over the net looking for some detail shot of a part of a Sherman. Still if we wern't doing this we'd be putting the world to rights and peeing our hard won earnings up the wall in some pub, or worst still we'd be one of those really sad gits staying in the office until 9 O'clock at night making somebody else rich.
As with you I do really value this forum to share with like minded people. I have always made models, starting with Airfix kits when I was about 7 years old. There is something very satisfying in it for me and I find it great for de-stressing and forgeting the real world. I don't know what I'd do without it as it also gets me away from the dreadful TV we get these days.
Just finished making the firing handle, and linkage, and the auxiliary firing lever on the opposite side, also added the extractor, and the recoil gauge, just the quadrant and linkage, and the sight bracket to be made, and I will start on the bogie's

Hi Jeff,
I think to have reached a good result with my 88 Flak 37, but I am happy to
recognize that your model is the most beautiful and best detailed I can see.
My sincere congratulations
Alfredo & Allan, thank you both for your encouragement, the 88 is becoming a splendid model, and although you have to put some time and effort into it, the Armortek model is well worth it, a couple of weeks should see the main gun finished, then the shield and bogie's
