Interesting range of options, as always. Ultimately, I guess Gill and Mark will be swayed by two factors, commercial (size of potential market and cost of manufacture) and availability of an example in UK to measure. Commercially, there is bound to be a balance between what existing customers want and the potential to attract new customers. Having said that, there are clearly some old favourites that keep coming up - one day Paul......

The plastic forums such as Missing Lynx give a good indication of what is popular, once you get beyond the inevitable "Tiger fever".

I'd like to see the armo(u)r in Armortek return. I can see why softskins and halftracks have appeal and a Quad makes sense after the success of the 25 pdr but..... no gun worth talking about. Now 120mm, that's a gun. What about the biggest tank guns fielded in large numbers ie Royal Ordnance L11A5 120 mm L/55 rifled tank gun?

Now that Mark has cracked large casting, the Chieftain becomes a real possibility. It had a cast turret and cast forward hull. So I'd add my voice to the Chieftain lobby. Here is the Chieftain Appreciation Society (yes!)

https://www.facebook.com/groups/tankie/

Think of all the possibilities - Simon could do a real job of weathering, with all that oil and diesel covering the back half of the tank. Adrian could do a super smoker to simulate the effect of blown cylinder liners with clouds of white smoke. And what about a random power pack failure module which guaranteed a breakdown in the middle of a level crossing? For the artistically gifted, there is the Berlin urban camouflage For those who bought the Mark IV, you could have two models with the Chinese Eyes of the Fourth Royal Tank Regiment..... Mark, what are you waiting for?

Failing that, M42 Duster anybody?

Only slightly tongue in cheek - Stephen

Either a shrieking Chieftain or a rumbling Leopard 1 would suit me for 2015 :D :D

Impressive turn of speed Simon.

Leo 1 - forgive me, wasn't that the tank whose armour was so thin, you could penetrate it with a Black and Decker? Great for peacetime demonstrations but not something to go to war in if you wanted to live. Same gun and automotive performance as a Centurion but half the protection. Still, it made a nice noise.

Hi Stephen

Yes, it's pretty fast and powerful, moves nicely. I'd like to know more about it. I don't know if it's by a forum member? Apparently stainless steel construction and 200kg. He has a few videos on youtube.
As for the Leopard, has it ever really gone into action, in any variant, I don't recall any footage or photos?

Simon
