Tiger Sounds

Post by Jim Slothower »

I was just wondering if anyone who had heard a Tiger running could tell me if you can hear the turret turn or gun elevation depress over the engine sound.

The Tamiya sounds are nice but never having heard a Tiger myself I dont know how realistic it would be. I certainly favor the Benedini sound because its proportional and has a few other cool sounds. But if the turret turn and elevation and depression were audible how can I make that happen when I get to that point??

Thanks, Jim

Jim,

I've never heard a Tiger turning its turret or elevating the gun but I know that the Sherman is pretty quiet as are modern tanks like Challenger. I honestly think that the Tamiya nose is too loud and mybe artistic licence. The Tamiya engine sound is proportional though.

Hi Jim,

The best thing to do is to contact Thomas Benedini by e-mail ( thomas AT benedini.de ) and explain your requirements. You can write to him in English.

I know that there are sounds somewhere out there of the turret rotation (both hydraulic and manual operation), not sure if it is a standard Benedini feature. Maybe one of the Tiger owners can confirm that.
Cheers,
