Re: Kompact Kit - 25 PDR Field Gun
Very impressive kit in the flesh. Very nice components. Pity it's not a german gun. Are these kits to be produced in limited numbers like the vehicles?

Re: Kompact Kit - 25 PDR Field Gun
Hi John,
Maybe a German one could follow!
The concept here is a straight forward kit in a box, low cost, (relative to the Armortek products) so not limited and numbered. We have manufactured an initial batch of 100 kits. We really do not know what the potential market for a kit at this price is, at this stage. With this uncertainty we can not say what the final number will be so early after launching this new concept in all metal modelling.

Any chance of a better, overhead view of the carriage, especially the angled areas at the back. I assume that this is a MkII gun on a MkI carriage?

Re: Kompact Kit - 25 PDR Field Gun
Y'know if you happen to be a collector of Allied Kit, and especially WWII Allied kit, it is difficult to sit by and watch as every piece of German kit gets manufactured whilst the allied stuff gets ignored. Yeah, maybe the German stuff is more popular, and I can accept that. But, it's particularly galling to find that you've finally been graced with a nice bit of allied kit only to have your discussions of that kit hijacked by the German hordes who want to discuss some piece of German kit that they think should have been made instead By all means start your own thread on what you'd like to see made but, for once, let the allied collectors have their moment in the sun, let us please discuss this fine piece of British kit without you people showing up to tell us how it should be a German gun instead!

Re: Kompact Kit - 25 PDR Field Gun
Lol.
Very sorry not trying to take anything from the fine model Armortek has produced, I did in fact tell Gill I was going to buy one on Saturday, but discussion of what people would like is one of the ways this forum has worked for a very long time, asking for another model to be produced will not stop the 25 pounder being a great kit nor will it stop anyone from ordering one, as one of the long term members of this forum this is exciting news for all, that Mark and Gill are possibly doing a new range of kits, and I would imagine that rather than "Hijack" a post, the fact that people are openly discussing what they hope will follow in what will hopefully be a great new series of kits, would be deemed a positive thing?
Cheers Paul.

Re: Kompact Kit - 25 PDR Field Gun
As Paul says. I did mention before what an excellent kit this was. I was impressed by the quality and finish. So nicely packaged also. Shame to take it out of the box.

Re: Kompact Kit - 25 PDR Field Gun
Hi Folks,
Nice 25 pounder gun Mark. Great details and lot's of lovely wee rivets to get stuck into. This gun would go nicely with a Morris Field Quid Artillery Tractor etc, from the Allied side. "HINT HINT"
But meanwhile here's a few pics I had taken like others on the tours of The Tank Museum Work shops to wet the appetite for future Armortek artillery guns like the mighty Pak43 with it's 88 gun.
Cheers for now

Re: Kompact Kit - 25 PDR Field Gun
I have to agree with Pete
For years, the new releases from Mark and Gil have done a good job of keeping us all guessing. "What could be next?" I too am guilty of this. But I can't help but feel for Gil and Mark when they release an exciting new kit, in this case, a beautiful British gun kit all in one box! Only to have us all wish for a Pak 43. Would that be cool and would I like to see a German piece? Yes.
But since the surprise release, and this thread,is a 25 Pounder, Let's focus on what we have and not what we don't have. Maybe start a Pak43 thread(or other wish-list piece) thread on the owners forum.
Maybe a Morris Quad gun tractor and ammo limber is next? oops..there I go speculating again.
Keep surprising us Mark and Gil.
best regards
Tim
