late steel wheels and thread locker

Post by michael didonato »

Can anyone tell me the best type of thread locker you use when assembling the steel wheels. Being that the bolts and nuts are so small did you put the thread lock on the bolt itself or is there a thread locker you can apply after assembly of bolt and nut..

You dont really need thread lock at all on these nuts and bolts. For extra security, you could use a low strength thread locker such as Loctite 222.

Mike:

If you want a thread-locker that you can use on assembled fasteners, use Loctite 290. It will wick into the assembly. A little goes a long way!
