Great Dorset Steam Fair

Post by Dennis Jones »

Barry Dominy and myself have just spent five days at the Dorset Steam Fair in and around the Model Marquee. For our Worldwide owners the Steam Fair is the biggest in Europe if not the World covering over 600 acres. We were doing five demonstrations a day with two Tigers, Comet and Diamond T Truck & Trailer. A lot of interest from members of the public and we were voted by them as the best entertaining models out of the 100 on display and as a result won the Eric Bothem Memorial Trophy. As you can see from the photos the ground was very dry and dusty, with this Show it is either three inches of mud or dust. We had one or two breakages but luckily managed to sort the during the show. All in all a good five days and put the name of Armortek in front of the public.

Dennis.

Congratulations Dennis, well done.
I know the Dorset fair well - it takes at least a day to walk around it, more if you want to browse the many stalls in detail. Thirsty work, so thank goodness they have an excellent beer tent as well. :D
See you at Bovington?
Regards
Kevin
