Here is a photo of the new geared turret turn motor . It's very strong and moves the turret with ease . Plus the speed controller makes a big differance to the movement control of the turret .

Elevation motor fitted plus limit switches . I think I might have to machine a recesse where the brackets sit on the turret ring base . Looking at the drawings of the late tiger turret . The brackets look like they sit lower in the turret ring compeared to my early tiger turret . I have very limited travel of the barrel . Maybe Mark can have a look at this photo and let me know . Also I was a bit confused about where to put the spade terminals on the limit switches . So if the terminals look the wrong way around in this photo please let me know .

Green light for go . This is where I can get access to turn my tiger on and off. In this photo you can see the brass bush I turned up for the hole for the Deck hold down bolt . This way the bolt is hidden out of sight when the grill is closed , under the hole I have a solid alloy block with a taped hole so this way there are No nuts under the deck . I just need a hex driver to remove the deck quickly . Dale

Very nice pictures and a good clean installation. I fitted an ESC on my turret turn in place of the switcher unit, but the original motor is still a little underpowered and won't move the turret untill it is nearlly at full throttle anyway. I suspect that with the stronger motor the speed response is better. It also looks as if this new motor will retrofit into the early Tiger. Perhaps you could coment on that.

Another point to note with the elevation installation is that the lowerr contact comes close to the turret base, so I would recommed using a little piece of plastic stuck to the turret base to ensure no contact with the model chassis.

Does your turret turn ESC have a metal base, if so the negative wire is connected to this and if you mount it directly on the tank you have effectively connected the neg of the battery to the tank. I mounted the ESC off a bit of wood which I stuck to the tank to avoid any connection.

I didn't have any problems with limited gun elevation but I see where you are coming from.

Hi Dale and Allan

You have the limit switch terminals correct, and as Allan says, it looks a neat installation. You may have to make pocket or a modified bracket for the elevation motor because you are correct in guessing that the heights of the turret floors are a little different. The Speed controller for rotation does not have a metal base, so you dont need to worry about it earthing out.

Hello Allan and Mark . My speed controller and the other bits are velcroed to the pannier floors , This way I can remove them if needed . Mark can I have the distance from the bottom edge of the late tiger turret where the ring gear is mounted to the spot where the elevation bracket and the limited switch brackets sit's ?? This way I can work out how much needs to be removed ?? . Allan my tiger is the same as yours . The new turret turn motor and bracket bolts into the same holes as our early tigers , so up grading is easy Dale.

I'm going to be in the same situation with regards to installing the late option packs into an Early Tiger, although that's not going to be for some time yet.

Did you need to remove any material from the turret base to cope with the difference between the two designs of turret

Will you be fitting the blank firing mechanism

Adrian It will need doing , I have not got around to it yet . If you can find out off someone the differance between the two types of turrets can you let me know . Dale
