Centurion Build #27
Hi guys,
So I have my tank... I wont seriously start the build for a few weeks but I will probably just setup and look at the monster parts.
I am in Melbourne. So how many other centurions have made it down under?
Cheers
Sean

Re: Centurion Build #27
Hi guys,
Have any of you guys had this?
The bogies are narrow so the swing arms wont go in It is just under 1mm issue.
3 of them are fine and 3 are not.
Guessing the best way would be to machine the bogie the correct dimension. Any thoughts?
Cheers

Re: Centurion Build #27
Hello Sean
All the bogies were machined as one batch, and the slot feature was CNC machined in one operation. It is, therefore, extremely unlikely that there is any significant variation in the width of this slot.
The thickness of the head of the bush can vary a little and sometimes there is a bur around the hole in the swing arm that will prevent the bush from pushing fully home. Check these features first.

Hi Sean
Can you check that the bogies which seem narrow have not been squashed in transit to you. Put a rule or straight edge down the front face to see if it is still straight. It seems unlikely because they are very strong.

Never underestimate the ability of courier companies to bend/break things, no matter how well packed

Re: Centurion Build #27
Hi Sean
If you were in the UK, I would ask you to send them back for us to sort.
Your easiest solution is to get hold of two M12x40 bolts and nuts. Screw the nuts on until you can get them into the slot, one each end, then use them to jack the slot open until it measures about plus 1mm. Slack off and the bogie should spring back to just about the correct width.

Nice one Sean. Good to see another Aussie Cent. Looks like you've done a great job on the 100 gall tank and turret basket. It's a fine kit to start with but a few mods really make it special. Thanks for posting. Whatever happened to the MVCA website? Stephen
