Re: Dales mid tiger 1
Today I've test fitted the rear deck casting all's good so far . I added a deck spacer in-between the front castings to fill the gap back up to the deck level , then I'll make a new alloy hatch which will bring it back up to the correct height ..

Hi Dale,
So good to see your posts again. Your tiger is looking great, I will follow your build closely as a reference for my late TIger. I shill use your Sherman build for a reference for my Sherman. The 1:1 Jeep and trailer look like a great restoration and I'm sure are a real kick to drive!
Thanks for the years of inspiration.
Best regards,
Bob

I made up a new engine hatch today out of alloy and moved things around a bit .. can some one tell me if when they removed the fifeil cleaner , hood and replaced it with the cover , was the rectangle hole left open or did it have mesh our any thing else over it ? seam like a good spot to drop a grenade into the engine compartment Dale

Re: Dales mid tiger 1
Here's another update . Lots done in the last week or so , all the fake welds are done. I've installed the drive cases to the hull , added detail to the front fillets of the hull , set up the idlers and sprockets , etch primed the lower hull . I'm now test fitting the rear transom parts and started detailing them as I go . Plus fitted Steve winston lovely jack . All the road wheels are wet and dry sanded ready to prime , everything else is going well . Dale

Re: Dales mid tiger 1
Looking very nice, Dale!
Both good looking third party details and well done mods by yourself. I can see the engine hatch, recessed engine deck bolts, milled forward turret frame and there are probably things I did not spot...
This is going to be a very nice looking tiger.
Cheers,
/Chris

Hi Dale
Great build, Great welds and an good eye on details. I spotted on place that is easy to improve, and that is the armour plate in the center on the rear deck next to the snorkel intake . That somewhat triangular plate with 3 wholes ( in the kit it is just raised a little and is milled on the top surface). Place the ce0114 in your milling machine and take off as much as possible, almost level with the cast surface. On my plate I hade to take away 1,26 m/m. and make an 3m/m plate in the same shape and use countersunk cap head as fastner as the real thing had hexagon . I think this plate was used for easy axsess to the ignition adjustment. In my picture ref.this plate has very rough edges.
Pic of my mod. is soon coming on my topic.
