Stunning work. Congratulations. Thanks for sharing. I'm sure a number of us who have struggled to represent rifling in the tank gun barrels would be grateful to know how you did yours. Did you force a plug through as the full size does?

Best regards

Stephen

Thank you for your comments. Unfortunately I’m not skilled enough to make such a piece. It’s engineered perfectly, the recoil mech, transverse and elevation mech, and interrupted screw breech has perfect action. A friend of mine made it in 1/10 scale in less than 100 hrs.

A retired engineer from the armaments industry, the same guy who's making my 1/6 MG34. I have no idea how he rifled the barrel but im thinking he used old gun barrel as material.

I’m about to commission a 1/10 8" Vickers howitzer 1914-1918. I'm sure if anyone wants a tank barrel he would oblige.

Again thanks for the comments

The MG34 is on the finishing stages. It was held up by waiting a delivery of a dragon one from UK to Australia (where he lives) for magazine fitting. It's finally arrived now so I will have it in the next few weeks. The problem is he wont build any more MG34's. Too fiddly he says :( :(

He did use a .45 barrel for the deck gun hence the rifling. It was stopped and passed for delivery by UK customs so it's quite legal. He will make rifled tank barrels to order, either the barrel or with functional breech and mech.

That functional breech would be great. Outside my budget. Would love to get some dimensions though.
