Morning all.

Post by Mick Coleman »

Morning all, I'm currently overhauling a good mate's 1st release Tiger 1. The model was completed in 2003 and and has been a shelf queen ever since. My mate purchased her over a year ago but has just not found the time to give her the tlc she requires. So anyway he handed her over to me about a week ago. I'm not going to do anything major with her to start with. I'll just be going over every nut and bolt and making sure everythings doing as its meant to. I'll also be giving her a light detal and weathering. Step two will be to overhaul the electrics. Replacing all connectors etc. I'm very exited I've been given the operutity to work on this tank. I just love pulling large scale tanks down and improving/ overhauling them. I unfortunately do not own an Armortek as yet but there will come a day. I have a 1:6 Challenger II and a 1:8 King Tiger. I'm in a small club down here in Victoria called the Victorian Large scale tank Club or VLSTC for short. We have a great spread of tanks with several 1:6, 1:8 and 1:16 tanks including two Armorteks. I'm looking forward to drawing on the knoledge and experience this forum holds for my overhaul.
Many thanks Mick.

G'day Mick and welcome to the forum.

Good to see another of these old Tigers getting some TLC :D

I'm up to my armpits in T1 parts as well, though I'm doing a much more intensive makeover

It looks like yours was built to a good standard, so hopefully will prove to be a good runner once you've finished your overhaul.

Adrian.

It does not look too bad to start with. It should be interesting for you to see how these kits go together. Good luck with the rebuild.

G'day Ray. There's a good club started up just near Sydney.

G'day Mick,
I am in Fairfield NSW (in Sydney area), and have got a King Tiger. I would like to know whereabout the club. Better play with chaps than alone.

Thanks!

Talked to my mate last night and it seems the Sydney club is no longer. There is one at Bungandore. SNSWRCTC is its name which stands for Southern NSW RC Tank Club. Or Newcastle which is called Newcastle Armoured RC Cav. Sorry for that miss information. :o

There’s a club in Rockingham WA, plus a huge club in Morton Bay in QLD with around 50 plus members and it's the first R/C tank club in Australia to be a registered corporation which is a hell of an achievement.
