INSURANCE
I am exhibiting my part completed Panzer IV in an amateur show. Can anyone recommend an insurance policy that covers its value and public liability? Most policies I have looked at assume you are a trader and will not cover private individuals. My home policies do not mention exhibitions of tanks!!!

Hi Graham
Membership of the UK Tank Club gives 3rd party insurance for public liability as well as many other benifits. For cover for your tank take a look at this post on the UK Tank Club forum. There are some links to specialist companies that will give cover.

Hope this helps

I have personally given up hope that politicians who never experienced war first hand will ever realise that war is the worst of all possible alternatives.

The Devon r/c Military Vehicle Group also includes insurance with its membership :

Chris, one of the club's members, is also building a Panzer IV which he exhibited at the SW Model Engineering Exhibition last week.
Most club insurance schemes, including all those mentioned, are mainly intended to provide third party liability insurance, although other benefits are normally included. To protect against loss or theft (whether at home or at elsewhere) I included my tanks in my home insurance. Although I had to contact them separately and provide a list of items it did not cost me any extra. Check with your insurers.

for users in the USA, and maybe to help those elsewhere, I posted an article at <http://www.company7.com/library/insuring.html> about insuring amateur telescopes. The principles are often similar, and although this article does not go into too much about liability, this is often provided for by some of the policies discussed.
Hope this helps someone,
