Diamond T and Trailer

Post by Dennis Jones »

I am sure Gill won't mind me sneaking in a few photos of our project. Still very much in early stages, tractor unit will pull 2 adults no problem. Total length is
9ft 6" or 2900mm. 24 wheels on trailer 10 on the tractor. Rear axles from 2 mobility scooters (complete scooters £50 each with batteries) front end off a 4 wheel scooter.

Dennis,
Great project! You have a good start. The tyres look great, perfect size. Would love to have a truck transporter like this. Keep us posted.
Best regards,
Bob

A few more photos of the trailer and two videos (not very good quality). Including the weight of the truck, trailer, tank and concrete block I reckon we are pulling about 450 lbs (200 kg). Still very much in prototype mode though.

Hi John,
Hopefully we will have something ready for Tankfest in June. I expect your Firefly will be up and rearing to go by then !!!!
Have you sorted some R/c gear yet ? There will of course be a small charge for transportation (joking).

Hi John,

Pulling the weight is no problem it's just fitting the Tiger on the trailer might be an issue as the trailer was made for English & American tanks and had a 40 ton limit but we will see what will fit on it when finished.

That will be one cool rig. I love the Diamond T. If I could score me some tires like that I might have a go at building one too. Keep us posted on your progress!
