I know someone out there has the answers?
I need the following:
1. How many helical groves are in the original 88 MM Tiger I barrels?
2. What is the rate of twist?
3. I also need to know the Armortek Tiger I barrel length.
Thank You
Joe

Re: Need information on Tiger I barrels
Joe,
I can only help with #3.
I have the Mid, Early and Pete's for comparison.

The Mid is 17" to the brake and 21 5/16" overall.
The Early is 17 1/2 " to the brake and 21 1/4" overall.
Pete's is 18" to the brake and 21 13/16" overall.
And David's page http://tiger1.info/EN/GunDimensions.html
I hope this helps!

Re: Need information on Tiger I barrels
Hi Rocky:
Your tanks are looking great and thanks for the barrel lengths.
I have a gun barrel manufacture I am talking with about rifling the Aluminum barrels.
Of course they could never be fired – it’s just for looks and authenticity.
He wanted to know the total length (I believe he can handle up to 29 inches long).
The next thing is the number of helical grooves and then the rate of twist. I forgot I need the present ID of the barrels too.
Once I have these figures he will let me know if he can do it, and at a reasonable cost.
If so I will let everyone on the forum know, and how to get in touch with the company. I always thought full barrel rifling would look great.

Thanks Joe, and I am glad that I could be of help!
If he can handle 29", he will not have any problem. I would be happy to send you one of my barrels, so he has a good reference. Additionally, I believe that Mike did some work on rifled barrels. You might want to check with him.
Cheers,
Rocky

Re: Need information on Tiger I barrels
Thanks to all who were interested.
I am sorry to say that there are to many riflings in the barrel to have the complete barrel done to scale.
The best way to obtain that look is with go with Mike Stannard's Barrel Rifling Plates - located in his General AFV Accessories Catalog.
Thanks to Everyone
