to have a go at,and if I get home from work and dont want to get too many tools out,a bit or air brushing or
dry brushing is just the job

Looking good phil .I have pz1v on order but dont know if i will start the build straight away ,I might try another scatch build .I have at least three choices im interested in doing i will let you know if i decide on what if any i decide to try .When the pziv arives it might be too tempting not to get stuck in and start the build ,keep up the good work its very interesting to see it all coming together .

Had a go at making my steel box's after studying the Adam Wilder dvd.
Made them out of 0.9mm galvanised steel and soldered the joints and hinges.

Great job on the boxes. I tried soldering steel but could'nt get it to work. What are you using to get the stained effect on the deck. Is it difficult to achieve.

I used the solder for steel and a seperate flux,I dont know whether that made a difference,once
the metal heated up it flowed ok.
The top deck was done with a Burnt Umber wash and dry brushing with black,sand and dark earth.
The wash was built up over a few days to allow for drying and see the affect of each wash,and
a bit of stippling with the mat black.
Basically just playing about untill you like the look.
I have been doing a bit more dry brushing to the rest of the hull and made a few other parts,will
have to put some more pic's on.

Nice one Phil, your weathering is looking the real deal. I have been reading up on these Russian tanks...they were certainly built to last.

Reference the airbrush equipment, I will probably go for the same setup as yourself.
I spotted a short film on Utube ....'how to airbrush'.... very helpfull.

I am still adding detail to my Comet, in between following the various 'builds' on the Forum.

I may go for a Armortek Tank kit next year.....have to raid my pension again.
