Re: Who's the next?
Panzer III or IV with universal hull concept.
This would allow to have same time Panzer + Jagdpanzer + Stug version at least... the limit is only fantasy !
Or going back to wheels.... what about a Puma ???

My men can eat their belts, but my tanks have gotta have gas.

Re: Who's the next?
It would be interesting to know how many Sherman and Panzer IV Universal hulls have been sold.
I seem to recall Gill saying that they thought when they launched the Universal Panther range that people would buy one Universal Hull and several different tops for it, but in the end they found they had sold as many Universal hulls as they did tops.
Adrian.

Re: Who's the next?
Hi Adrian
Interesting Question. Simple answer. There was one Sherman hull sold together with some parts from the original batch to be made up into an M4A4. There were no Panzer IV hulls sold. Clearly what almost all the customers want is a complete kit.

Kudos Mark,
Proper customer-led market testing, with solid results.
You could have paid some marketing twerp in a bowtie and pink socks tens of thousands of pound to devise a test to prove this point. Well done for not wasting the dosh.
Now you can get back to the really interesting bit of identifying which great AFVs can be reverse engineered, scaled down, motorised and manufactured at the target price point. Then from that short list, which kits will attract the punters.
Keep up the good work, it has been an amazing sell-out year amid all the doom and gloom. Go on, take the rest of the weekend off!
Best wishes
Fabrice

I think it well be 50 Early tiger 1's . Yesterday I pulled my 2010 Mid tiger 1 kit out to have a look at it again , and check out all the parts . This kit is by far the best kit to date from Armortek . All the parts are to notch .. Dale

G'Day Dale,
Wee hours here. You have a good few hours of Sunday morning sunshine to get cracking on that pile of shiny parts before the rugby starts!
Bonza!
cheers, Fabrice (professional insomniac)

Re: Who's the next?
If staying with WWII:
What about an SU-100 top to the T-34/85 hull? They gave the Panzers a run for their money on the eastern front. Would be an easy design to add, with all the straight edges... it was an expedient design at the time.
How about an M18 Hellcat or M36 / Achilles?
What about a light tank... the awesome Chaffee?
A late war Pershing?
If expanding, as I said in another post... would be hard to make a better decision than a Centurion and T-55... most conflicts in the Cold War era...
My .02 anyway... the SU100 should be quick development and would expand us Russian tank lovers options.

Re: Who's the next?
Dave - great to see you also think a Cent would be a good idea. Lots of countries used them so wide appeal. For something really topical, how about this? (BBC Arabic Service report on Libya, see around 0.39). It's apparently an ex Jordanian Tariq (diesel engined Cent Mk 7 with hydro-gas suspension, a 105mm and AVRE fittings).
Best regards

Re: Who's the next?
I think you're right... nice looking unit, and the diesel conversion would really change that tank. I know someone who has a Cent, and it takes 3 hours a spark plug... (that may be a small overstatement, or may not...)
I would buy a Centurion, and would hope for a T-55 too... be cool doing a Yom Kippur war reenactment, but with those two you could do any number of engagements....

Re: Who's the next?
Personnaly the recent photos of a Ferret make me think that it could be cheeky little number to slip in between something bigger, also it might appeal ton all those who own one! I would enjoyhaving one to drive around, and my sons would as well!

Re: Who's the next?
Steve,
Yes, but for a grand more you could own a real one..
OK in need of a little restoration work, but what is a pastime if it doesn't pass the time (as they say down my club).
Saracen/Saladin or a Stolly would make a nice change. The latter might even appeal to the model boat market like the Dean's DUKW. Big, fun model in 1/6th!
We can only dream.
cheers, Fabrice

Re: Who's the next?
I have thought that a 1/6 scale DUKW would be very good, almost as exciting as a Famo..... but with the added benefit that it also floats!
We don't have enough room in our house or garage for much else that is bigger and there is no way I could keep a Ferret.

Re: Who's the next?
Blimey! A 1/6th DUKW you could almost sit in!
Deans missed a trick by not picking a scale that had off-the-shelf running gear, hubs and appropriate wheels available. Let alone figures, stowage etc. The finished examples I have seen are always let down by this.
Ferrets...nasty smelly little brutes that will have your fingers off...especially when you drop the driver's visors carelessly.
cheers, Fabrice
