US Pyrene Fire Extinguisher

Post by Dave Dibb (Armorpax) »

Hi All,

As I am up to my neck in Comet parts at the moment, and still have work to do on the Quad 50, Tim Bowman has stepped up to the plate and is helping me out with a couple of parts that I have wanted to do for a while. The first is the US Pyrene Extinguisher found on most US Vehicles including the Jeep, Halftrack and WSC. Tim's superb work is creating a part that would be difficult for me to match with my humble hand tools and I have posted the Graphics below along with a pic he took of the genuine article. I have been amazed by the detail of Tim's parts and am really pleased to have him directing a little of that talent my way :!: :!:

Once Tim has sent me the generated parts I will be adding the bracket and clip the old fashioned way

Best regards

Dave

Hi All,

Just finished cleaning up the RP parts from Tim and adding a few details like the connecting hose. I've modified one of the Kidde extinguishers to make the longer body type used in the M7 beside each shell rack, the smaller one, from the pics we have, is commonly found in turrets etc. on US armour.

Next job is to make the other half of the retainer to go with the large holder and the simpler sheet metal holder for the small bottle. Also have the brackets to make for the Pyrene extinguisher.

Best regards

Dave

Hi All,

Got the revised body RP from Tim recently and have finally got round to making the bracket and clips. The masters are now ready to drop into moulds and these will be on general release after War and Peace.

Kit will come with one Pyrene extinguisher with bracket etc all moulded on and an extinguisher without frame if you want to make a seperate one or use it elsewhere.

Best regards

Dave

Hi All,

I'm limited to self adhesive labels but have knocked together a Label for the extinguisher from a full size one. Its not perfect but it makes a big difference to the extinguisher. I've include two of these in the extinguisher packs.

The finished results below.

I've added these to the website and they will be available when I get back from War and Peace.

Best regards

Dave
