Back Again

Post by Don Webster »

I'm an old owner of an Early Tiger 1 from 2003 that is finally starting to work on it after retiring. I have not been on for a long time..love seeing the improvements, new names, and especially the old ones from the past.

I will be re-researching the site for the latest information. Right now I am making a jig to hold the track to file/drill/correct...I had thought that maybe their had been some work around by now.....well I need the exercise.

I do have one question for now. As I remember, back in 2004+ someone was doing some type of chemical staining of the track? any update or link to this if still on the system would be appreciated.

Good to finally start...and by the way I see that someone was wondering if they were the slowest builder......you're just a babe.
Back again and ready to start building my Early Tiger

Hi Don,

there have been some members doing chemical treatment on the links. However I was succsessfull with a 30 % HCL acid bath for only a few seconds. The results can be seen in the gallery on page 4 in "tracks and pins". Most important after the acid bath is a long wash in clear water.

Happy building - Roland.
