Panzer IV H photos from Kalemegdan Museum Belgrade

I was visiting Belgrade last week and took some photos of tanks on display. Of special interest to me is the Panzer IV H as I have one on order. The tanks are in an open display and open to the weather. They do not seem to have restrictions on climbing up for photos.

I will not load all photos but have about 200 so if you are looking for somthing in particular let me know and I will see if I have that detail. I expected to find more casting numbers but found less than I expected.

Love the photos as I to have a panzer iv on order.
Looking forward to the next batch you know the old saying a pitcher is worth a thousand words.
Looking at your photos how very true that statement is.
Love the close up detail shots.

Great photos Graham. Hopefully you will have lotsmoe company in the Panzer IV section soon. I wave followed your Panzer IV with interest. She looks great.
Some photos of the Bovington Panzer IV would be great if anybody has some.

Hi John

Very nice photos. Interesting too. Must be a very early ausf H as it has the pistol port still on the rear of the turret. Hope you had a nice trip.

As Graham said, incase others are interested or missed it, I have 100s of photos of the Ausf J up at Jacques Littlefield's collection and will try and update this page on my site in time for everyones builds. At the moment, there are only a few running gear photos but I have every inch of the vehicle photographed.

Hi Tim, I have taken quite a few photos at the museum. I will upload more soon. Just sent you a pm regarding Stug 111 photos. Also have photos of Panze 1 and Panzer 11, couple of Stuarts and 2 T34 variants. I'm in France for the rest of June so no work on my Tiger but I did get the tracks on before I left.

In relation to the Panzer IV. I also took measurement from quite a few of the nuts bolts and rivets.

Hi John,
Super set of photos.

They have cleared up a detail that I had been wondering about. Back in 08 I took a bunch of pics of the Bovington PzIV. The pattern of the treadplate on the track covers struck me a being totally different to the hobnail pattern on the PzIII. This hobnail pattern is common to many German AFVs so I had considered that the PzIV might have been restored at some stage.

Not so, as your pics prove.

I hope Mark has picked up on this and will provide the right treadplate with the forthcoming kit.

Hi Fabrice, A correct treadplate would be nice. I was expecting just plain sheet. Looking forward to seeing exactly what will be included in the kit. I will add more photos soon. The Stug III on display had a different pattern.

Bob I would say the tanks here were slightly neglected. In some cases visitors were dumping litter insise the exhibits.

Hi John,

Yes, that is a super photo of the "hobnail" pattern plate. You can see that the raised bumps are almost square, like flattened pyramids.

I was toying with getting a heavy foil covered paper embossed with these patterns to sell on to fellow modellers. Much much cheaper than photo etching, easy to glue onto sheet alu or steel shimstock. Painting/weathering no problem, and easy to repair for those who enjoy a working model.
