Panzerhaubitze 2000

Post by Marcel de Groene »

Hello Guys,

Off topic because this isn't an Armortek model. It's complete scratch built by a friend of mine, Eddie de Ruyter. His craftmanship is superb, that's why I want to share his progress with you. This is as far as I know a three year project so far. Enjoy

One of the amazing features is the suspension system. All road wheels can be adjusted at once or separate. The engine system comes from a what we call scootmobile, an electric car for disabled or elderly people. The electrical system from this mobil has been adapted too. Works fine.

Tracks are handmade.

Model will be fitted with a pneumatic recoil system. I have seen it work, realy amazing.

At this stage we are looking at 200 kilo's of tank. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. I will relay all messages. Eddie will probably open up an account here which will make it easier.
Thanks for watching.

Many congratulations to a master craftsman.

What does the '403 Forbidden' notice cover?

Can you get your friend to outline the suite of equipment he uses to make his machines please? Has he done any others?

A thought for all contributors to this forum and Armortek - I would be willing to pay money to take lessons on proper model engineering. I was aware some years ago of a course in London which sounded good but by the time transport and accommodation had been added on the cost was astronomic.

Are there any on-line tutorials of good quality? Does anyone have books/dvds/other that they can recommend?

How refreshing to see something that is not 60 years old for once. I sure wish Armortek would built a Leopard. So tired of WWII. Tigers and Panthers are awsome, but it would be nice to have a PzH 2000, Leopard, Bradley or something more up to date.

Hi Marcel

A very interesting piece of hardware. What an amazing Model!

To Roland's point, could you imagine how big an M1A2 Abrams, Challenger II or Leopard II would be in 1:6th!

Hello guys,

Eddie is reading the posts and got all kind off blushes  He says thanks for all the kind replies. Thanks!!!

And Tim's right. If I park my Panther next to this machine, the Panther looks like a tiny little toy. It really is big...and big is beautiful

Tim We would just have to find a space in between the Harley and the muscle cars.

Hi guys,

I hope that Eddy doesn't mind, but here you can find his site http://www.eddypzh2000.nl/
It is in Dutch, but all the pics speak for themselves.
Have a look and enjoy the craftsmanship.
Cheers,
Ad
