Some photos of the interior detail part for the main gun on my Panzer IV. This will be cleaned up, painted and weathered so I can get it installed. The spent-casing basket will hopefully be added but need to check clearance first.

That is so cool Tim. I never get tired of saying it (or seeing it) but amazing work once again. That will look fantastic once installed.

Interior gun gets a base coat of elfenbein and is mounted to the main gun. Spent casing basket frame, paint and weathering still to come. Hopefully this weekend I can get the gun in and zimmerit on!

Yes Kent, the stock will be removed from the coax MG. : )

I'm left speechless as ever with the quality of your work. Can you tell us a bit more about how you make the parts once you've designed on CAD? Are you using a 3D printer?

I thought you might enjoy this photo. I've apparently caused a stir on Missing Lynx. Someone saw my photos of the Bovington Pz III interior on this site and quite rightly made the point that the Tank Museum have a track record of not respecting original paint finishes. He then posted some photos of the vehicle in its unrestored state and I was fascinated to see that the crew had crudely oversprayed the interior Elfenbein with RAL 8000 presumeably to lessen the reflection in the intense desert sunlight.

Today, the same guy has posted this photo of the Pz IV Ausf D which at least for now remains original:

If I may offer one thought? The interior of the turret side doors was usually painted in the external colour since they spent most of the time open.

Hi Stephen Thank you for the comments and excellent interior photo.

I went back and forth on the side door interior and I was spraying the inside of the hull with the elfenbein color and decided ah what the heck...spray the doors while I have the can in my hand. Like the Panther, I think some things will change before its all over and the doors and door color may be one of those things. (I have been meaning to create new doors with the pistol port and a more detailed vision port) but for now the kits will do just fine. I need to save some energy, and dollars, for what's to come on the Tiger project.

In some ways, I actually like the contrast of the open doors and maybe once weathered and toned down they won't look so bright....maybe.

From your website http://thepanzertrap.com/, on top of the 1st page, there are two King Tiger's track links (Late production). I guess they are from Olaf Piekenbrin, as I have asked you before.

Do you have any project to make King Tiger's up-graded parts?

Hi Tim,

Looks great. I just have finished the "nahverteidigungswaffe" in the roof of my Panther. I will post some pictures soon. But this looks realy fantastic. I wondered a long time before I filled my turret with electronics and gadgets. On the P4 is easier to look inside. On the Panther you only have two hatches, on filled with a commander and the escape hatch on the back of the turret. The P4 is more suited for interior detail. Well done my friend!

Lehr, yes there is a King Tiger in my collection and planned for a future project that I am looking forward to. I will be creating many detail parts for that one too.

I'm not sure when I will be building though as I have a few projects planned before that one. This may change though as the Tiger I comes closer to completed.

Thanks for the interest and vote of confidence in Tiger II parts.

Hi Marcel, you are correct about the turret differences. One of my favorite things about the Panzer IV and Panzer III is being able to see a glimpse of the interior details. I'll be doing this somewhat on the Tiger when I get to that point in the build but we'll see how much.
