Panzer III innards

Post by Adrian Harris »

Does anyone have pictures of:

1) The parts which make up the Motion Pack

2) The Motion Pack installed in the hull.

Having fitted the new aluminium hull floor, I'm now looking at getting an internal sub-floor cut, and want to design in as many access holes, battery retaining lips etc as I can.

Hi Adrian

There are a fair few photos in my build thread but you'll have to trawl through it. I'm back at home at the weekend and can look out any extras I've got. I used ally sections but I recall my friend Fabrice getting a bit snuffy about using pop rivets so I felt obliged to replace them with set screws for the sake of engineering good manners. And there was me thinking pop rivets were perfectly respectable in the aircraft business. Oh well. Stephen

Adrian,
Have a look at my post "Electronics in the Panzer 111" dated March 10th 2010. It has done many running hours since build, I did extend the on/off switch to the remote panel any questions give me a shout. Hope this may help.
Dennis.

Thanks both.

Stephen, I have saved all your photos from that thread, so I'll have a hunt through them.

Dennis, thanks for the link, that's an ideal overhead shot. I had forgotten how far into the tank the motors reach  I've got a set of EMD motors for a Tiger, so I should be able to mount them and see what that leaves me for the floor.

As I've replaced the floor with an aluminium one, I'm considering creating a bracket to fix the front and rear portions of the floor the the relevant transverse hull plates. That should make the joint more robust and eaiser to waterproof.
