In 2007 I designed and had these working cleaning rod ends machine made, 500 brass sets and 500 aluminum sets. The brass ends are now out of stock and any new orders for the Tiger 1 (TT03A & AK), Tiger 2 (TT03C & CK) and Jagdtiger (TT03E & EK) tow rope and cleaning rod sets and the Panther, (Pan16A & K) Panzer III and Panzer IV cleaning rod sets will now only be available with aluminum working cleaning rods. All current orders due delivery will have the brass ones.
The real cleaning rod ends were made of brass, however I also made the aluminum ends to go with my white metal tow rope brackets and cleaning rod sets to make them more affordable. The aluminum ends can be painted a brass color to give the original look to your cleaning rods. The aluminum ends (1 male, 1 female) are still available at the original 2007 price of $4.00 per pair. I have around 300 aluminum sets in stock, once these are close to out of stock I will have the brass ones made again.
