What aspect or information, specifically, are you looking for?

If you search this forum and the web you will find many resources. When doing research for my mid-production Tiger for example I scoured the Internet for historical images, saved photos and info posted by fellows here - most notably archive images of real cupolas by Mike Stannard who make scale parts for sale. I accumulated some 34 MB just of images (about 150 photos of actual Tiger I tanks), plus videos about them, plus books too that show many aspects of Tiger I's including cupola interior and exterior views. In addition to this there are many images here on the forum posted by makers of these items (Vince Abbott, Mike Stannard, etc.).

Maybe we should set up a forum section just for those who do nothing but research?

Hi Martin,
I was looking for close up photo's from the top of the cupola, especially the rear of the armoured periscope covers and other attachments in this area.

I've looked at quite a few historical images, but these are a bit grainy and too far away to make out the details I'm looking for. I did try searching the forum, but this takes a long time going through countless posts that just mention the word 'cupola', so I thought I'd try a short cut to see if anyone had some close-up's from museum examples  .

Hi Steven,

As Martin said a lot of information is already here on this forum.
The Search function works well, just type "cupola" and hit the button and woala...

http://www.armortek.co.uk/forum/viewtop ... ght=cupola

All it takes is some time.

Hope this helped
Kind regards
Kent

Hello Steve,

I looked through my images, while I have many side and front or rear views I found two that might help you:

1. Tiger I interior mid-late Cupola top view.jpg - very good view from directly above the turret showing the Cupola with its periscopes guards, and with the hatch open to the side.

2. Tiger I late No 213 sPzAbt 503? top front.jpg - Tiger driven into a ditch headfirst, image taken from ahead and elevated position shows Turret top with Loader's Hatch open, and Cupola (hatch closed) well.

I am not sure how to convey images by the Forum, but welcome the advice or you could PM your E-Mail address and I will send them.

M
