Has anyone had problems with Milliput not hardening off? I've just started a new pack of silver/grey and have had two lots that have remained soft two days after mixing. After the first application refused to harden, I removed it thinking I hadn't mixed it sufficiently. For the repeat, I warmed both parts to soften them and mixed them really thoroughly. I find today, 24 hours later that I can still make a nail mark in the surface. Could this be a bum batch, does it pass its sell buy date or is there something else going on here? I'd be grateful for ideas before I bin this lot and start a new pack.
Thanks.
Stephen

Hi Stephen.
I don't think the sell by idea really counts for much I reckon its O.K. unless it starts to form a bit of a skin on the sticks, then I generally throw it out.
I have only ever used the silver / grey once and I had the same problem you describe even heating in a microwave prior to mixing made no difference to it, I am afraid I never found out the reason but since then I have just stuck to the standard yellow and never had the problem again?
Not much help I know but at least you know your not on your own.
Cheers Paul.
P.S. "Ancestral Dawn" on e bay takes some beating price and delivery wise

Great help in a way, so thanks for replying. If you've had problems, must be an issue. Just means as you say to avoid the silver/grey. So frustrating - I'm trying to finish shaping the mantlet on my Pz III and it's sitting there taking the mick.

Stephen,
I was once told by a "pro" industrial modelmaker that you have to check the shelf life of all epoxy based products as they can misbehave.
He was of the view that anything opened has a very limited pot life. New project-new materials in his view.
Superglue lasts longer if refrigerated, but don't mix it up with you eyedrops
.
I'll try my pack of SilverGrey (from Proops last year) and see if it does the same.
Nice and peaceful in the shed, Stephen
?
Cheers, Fabrice
